Enjoy Curling Up with a Book by the Fire? Curl Up with the Latest 007 Novel

On May 28, 2008, Ian Fleming’s birthday, Penguin Publishing released the latest James Bond novel, Devil May Care, penned by Sebastian Faulks. The novel picks up in 1966 after Octopussy and The Living Daylights. Faulks’ writing style has been said to echo that of Fleming and the effect is a nice mixture of intrigue and action true 007 style.

In the first 14 Bond novels Fleming makes it clear that 007 preferred Bentley Motors over other vehicles. Bond again drives a Bentley in Devil May Care. To celebrate the book’s release, Penguin teamed up with Bentley to create a Limited Edition, The Bentley Bond Special Series. This very rare edition of Devil May Care is leather bound and comes with a 1:43 scale model of a Bentley Flying B.

There are only 300 copies of this luxury limited edition novel. The price was £750, but the United Kingdom is completely sold out. You can find them on eBay, but you will pay quite a bit more. Alternatively, get the design printed on a usb stick here.

According to Bentley’s Dirk van Braeckel, w hile James Bond has always favoured Bentleys, the movies never really portrayed this. This Bentley edition takes the opportunity to inform the non-diehard Bond fans about Bond’s Bentley appreciation. Those who are true Bond fans already know this and will surely delight in having one of these rare editions.
